Organic stock cube manufacturer, Kallo Foods, has secured the support of chef and cookery writer Sophie Conran – daughter of designer Sir Terence Conran and cookery writer Caroline Conran – to launch the second phase of its Good Cooks Come From Great Stock campaign.
Launched last year with Jamie Oliver’s parents, Trevor and Sally, the Kallo campaign is designed to encourage people who enjoy cooking to celebrate their own original inspiration in the kitchen.
The tie up with Conran is timed to coincide with the launch of three organic stock cube recipes, which are claimed to be packed full of more lean meat and vegetables than any competitor; and are now available in stores.
Conran has developed five delicious new winter warmer recipes using each of the new organic stock cubes – free range chicken, beef and vegetable. The new recipes are available for consumers to download at www.facebook.com/kallofoodacademy.
Kallo organic stock cubes assistant brand manager, Euan Thomas, said: “Our campaign encourages people to reflect on the fond memories they have of learning to cook with their family and to celebrate this inspiration for cooking by sharing their favourite family recipes with us.
“Sophie Conran embodies the spirit of Kallo and this campaign. Her passion for cooking came from her mother and wanting things to look gorgeous design-wise from her father – both of whom she describes as the two incredible pillars that have provided her inspiration. She is also a great advocate of soups and stews having written two leading books on the subject. She knows only too well how something as simple as a stock cube can enhance the taste from ordinary to extraordinary.”
Conran said: “As a tot I scuttled between my Dad, Terence, in his design studio and my Mum, Caroline, in her kitchen. My mum is a fabulous cookery writer and I grew up testing and helping her in the kitchen. It was my favourite playground filled with warm smells and gorgeous experiments that could be eaten.
“I often use Kallo organic stock cubes at home and am delighted to be part of this exciting initiative which I hope will inspire families to cook great tasting food at home using natural ingredients and love.”
