New snack brand Popchips has teamed up with pop star, Katy Perry, to launch Katy’s kettle corn, a sweet and salty popped corn chip.
Perry, who has joined the Popchips business as an investor and creative partner, wanted to create a signature Popchips flavour.
According to Popchips, Perry wanted to develop a flavour that captured her passion for popcorn and craving for the classic sweet and salty flavour of kettle corn. The result is Katy’s kettle corn, a popped corn chip claimed to have just the right balance of sweet and salty. With less than half the fat of fried crisps, fewer calories and none of the fake colours or flavours that give snacking a bad name, they are as irresistible as Katy’s #1 hits, Popchips said.
“Creating my signature popchips flavour was so much fun,” said Perry. “When I realised popchips hadn’t ventured into sweet territory, I knew I had to do my very own take on one of my favourites, sweet and salty flavoured popcorn. After a series of intensive taste tests, I’m excited to introduce Katy’s kettle corn to UK fans so they can enjoy my dream snack.”
“When Katy Perry became the new face of popchips we were thrilled, when she told us she wanted to create her own flavour, we couldn’t wait to get started,” said Keith Belling, founder and chief executive officer of Popchips. “Katy Perry and Popchips fans in the UK are amazing, and we’re excited to bring them Katy’s signature flavour, Katy’s kettle corn.”
Popchips, with all the flavour and half the fat of fried crisps can be found at leading retailers across the uk including Waitrose, Ocado, Sainsbury’s, Boots, Starbucks, WhSmith (stations and airports), Planet Organic and Whole Foods Markets.
