Laybuy launches app-based UK affiliate platform set to reach 5000+ retailers


Laybuy, the leading responsible Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) provider, today launches an affiliate program which will allow customers to pay in six with Laybuy at hundreds of new brands, via the store directory available exclusively on the Laybuy app.

Laybuy’s affiliate programme requires no technical integration with retailers, so is accessible widely and rapidly. The programme includes some 200 new retailers with immediate effect. Leveraging Laybuy’s partnerships with SOVRN and AWIN retail platforms, the affiliate programme is set to reach more than 5000 leading brands online including, for the first time, well-known travel and leisure brands.

Shoppers simply need to sign-up to Laybuy, download the app and visit the Laybuy Shop Directory on their smartphone or tablet. From there, the customer can select the retailer they want to shop with. The retailer’s website will then load within the Laybuy app, where they can shop as normal. When the customer goes to pay, their details will be automatically generated, allowing them to pay for their purchases using Laybuy. 

Affiliated merchants will gain access to Laybuy’s rapidly growing active user base of more than 750,000 customers and its untapped, incremental spending power. Meanwhile customers retain all the benefits of using Laybuy, including paying no interest and spreading payments in six weekly instalments. Committed to lending responsibly, Laybuy carries out creditworthiness checks on every new customer when they sign up to Laybuy and is the only provider in the UK to perform a hard credit check.

Today’s launch marks a significant milestone in Laybuy’s evolving strategy. Following a strong performance at FY2021, with total customer sales (gross merchandise value) growing by more than 500% on the previous year, the affiliates program is just one example of Laybuy’s continuing commitment to the UK as a growth hub and will unlock the spending power of Laybuy customers.

The affiliates program closely follows the release of Laybuy’s unique and innovative digital BNPL card in June. Known as ‘Tap to Pay’, customers in the UK can purchase goods and services in-store using Laybuy with a simple tap of their digital card on their smartphone.
