Naturally Fast Food chain LEON has today launched a new menu, celebrating British summer time and the power of plants, especially British seasonal produce, across all of its UK restaurants.
Continuing to offer food that tastes good, does good and is kind to the planet, the new menu is true to LEON’s roots and features big and bold flavours, including hero dishes such as the low-carb Paleo Plant Box. Chargrilled British seasonal veg topped with either Roasted Aubergine and Sumac-pickled Onions for a vegan lunch under 300 calories, or Paprika Chicken with Garlic Aioli for a high-protein dish under 400 calories.
It’s not only this delicious plant box that draws inspiration from LEON’s colourful, crunchy seasonal vegetables; the new Summer Slaw also includes julienned carrots and radish, fresh peas, celeriac and cabbage in a light dressing. Perfect for picnics!
The power of plants shines through the menu. For breakfast, LEON is launching its first ever vegan Grilled Mushroom and Cheeze Muffin. What better way to start the day? A nutritious morning boost and perfect pick me up on the way to work. Layered with freshly grilled mushrooms, LEON’s in-house vegan cheeze sauce, rocket and ketchup in a toasted sourdough English muffin.
Inspired by Mediterranean flavours, LEON is shaking things up with its new Shakshuka made with two freshly poached free-range eggs in a chilli- and paprika-spiked tomato sauce, topped with garlic yoghurt, sumac and fresh herbs. And, back by popular demand, the Big Breakfast Boxes are making a return to the LEON menu, now served with an extra slice of grilled halloumi.
Also new and fresh from the oven is the new crunchy vegan Oat, Maple and Pecan cookie which is perfectly paired with LEON’s new plant-powered Chocolate and Banana Vegan Protein Shake, racking up 12g of plant-powered vegan protein. Talk about a perfect match! This vegan bake with help from LEON’s friends at Humbledough, is packed with a punch – made with organic oats, maple syrup, pecans, and sultanas. Dunk away!
This menu also introduces a new dish to the Little LEON menu, serving up big flavours to little mouths. The Grilled Halloumi Fingers & Rice will sit alongside the Chicken & Rice Box and GFC & Baked Fries. These dishes contain a side of fresh peas and tomatoes and are all available for £3.75 with a glass of organic milk for an additional 25p.
Erica Molyneaux, head of food at LEON, commented: “This new menu launch is a celebration of the power of plants and British seasonal produce, with some very exciting new dishes, that pack a punch when it comes to flavour. Now more than ever is important to continue to support British farmers and producers and offer food that tastes good, does good and is kind to the planet.”
The new menu launch could not come at a better time as LEON is participating in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, offering diners 50% off (up to a maximum value of £10 per person) every Monday – Wednesday throughout August. All dine-in guests are eligible for the 50% EOTHO discount, which means LEON’s menu is more affordable than ever.
What’s more? LEON is trialling two different meal deals available at select restaurants: The Slaw & Drink Deal and Burger Deal. For just £2, guests are able to add in a box of Summer Slaw and a 500ml bottle of water or LEON Sparkling can to any main.
