The company which claims to have launched the world’s first cubed tea bags has added three new varieties to its loose leaf range along with a range of Tea Collections.

LPV International, the organisation behind the LuLin brand, is now offering Black Long Jing, Black Oolong and Yellow Tips Single Estate Chinese teas to independent retailers, alongside the 40-plus varieties it sells already.

Hans Verhoosel, LPV director, said: “Black Long Jing is made from the same type of leaves as its green equivalent. It’s also known as Red Plum, due to its colour and deep fruity undertones. It isn’t that common in the UK but we believe it will suit the British market very well.”

Verhoosel said Black Oolong was a Fujian Oolong which has been fermented for longer than normal. Brewing a golden yellow, it had a slightly smoky taste with a full-bodied, sweet, long-lasting finish.

 “Yellow Tips is a popular tea with a light, refreshing, peppery taste and a smooth finish. It’s made from leaves picked very early from the plant providing our Mao Feng green tea.”

The new varieties are priced at (RRP): Black Long Jing £7.95, Black Oolong £6.95 and Yellow Tips £7.95 for 50g.

In addition, the company has launched Tea Collections, a range of specially-priced compilation packs, containing 50g of three individual types of tea. Prices range from £18.00-£28.00 (RRP), representing a 20% saving on buying each one separately. These are:

  • Scented Collection: Jasmine Dragon Pearls, Ginseng Oolong and Black Lychee;
  • Puerh Tea Collection: White Puerh, Green Puerh, Imperial Court Number One and Tangerine Puerh Ball;
  • Black Tea Collection: Black Lychee, Black Long Jing and Lapsang Souchong;
  • Green Tea Collection: Mao Feng, Yellow Tip and Anji Bai Cha;
  • Blooming Tea Collection: Seven Fairies, Oriental Beauty and Butterfly Dance;
  • Oolong Tea Collection: Black Oolong, Tie Guan Yin and Ginseng Oolong.

Three to four grams of each tea is enough to provide up to three average sized tea pots.

Verhoosel said the new varieties were the latest fulfilment of LPV’s promise to strive constantly to add new teas, so it could provide its customers with all the green, white, black, puerh, oolong and blooming varieties they wanted, as well as caffeine-free herbal tisanes.

“The new teas also confirm our continuing commitment to offering high quality products at fair prices for all,” he said. “This is achieved through us managing the whole process, including sourcing directly from carefully selected Chinese farmers, quality checking and shipping directly to the UK, in small batches, to ensure high standards.”

On top of providing top quality teas, the LuLin brand also includes teapots, hot water jugs and infuser mugs.

Orders for the new teas and tea collections can be place directly on 01904 898668. Next working day delivery to most parts of Britain is promised for orders placed before 1pm.
