Majestic, the UK’s largest specialist wine retailer, has cut the ribbon on a new store in Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, as it prepares for the pivotal Christmas trading period. The move brings the total number of nationwide stores back up to the 200 mark for the first time in four years.
Henley is a location Majestic have been keen to open a store in for almost three decades. CEO John Colley said: “We are absolutely delighted to finally be here in Henley! The welcome we’ve had has been fantastic! Clearly this year there has been an immense challenge for us all, but I’d just like to say a huge thank you to our store team and everyone behind the scenes for getting this brilliant store open in time for Christmas.”
Local resident, and Majestic Customer Director, Matthew Gaunt, explained that ‘local WhatsApp group and parent meetings were abuzz with the long-awaited impending store opening’. Already at 9am on the day of opening customers were eager to safely enter the store, with COVID guidance in place.
