MOL Group, Hungary’s integrated international oil and gas company, recently won the Learning Technology Awards, for Best international learning platform implementation. The award reflects MOL Group Retail’s innovations in e-learning across 15,000 employees in over 2,000 service stations across 10 countries.
As MOL transitioned its Consumer Services business from a traditional fuel retailer to a consumer goods company it had to train its 15,000 employees to provide a fully rounded consumer experience with a large emphasis on fresh food and drinks.
The group developed the e-smile programme to ease strain on its training facilities, with only 15 trainers across its whole network. This digital platform designed to be used on a phone allowed for faster more efficient micro-training resulting in 97% of staff using the platform more that 21 times a month, with staff using the programme in short daily chunks, many have been learning on their commute to work or on lunch breaks.
The e-smile programme has allowed MOL to revolutionise the working pattern of its staff in a short space of time in spite of logistical challenges and the pandemic to contend with.
