Smiggle and Monsoon are set to join intu Bromley as part of the centre’s continuous improvement programme to create a vibrant tenant mix and deliver the perfect shopping centre experience for customers.
Smiggle, the ultimate creator of fun, fashion forward stationery for kids, is bringing its unique concept of brightly coloured pens, notebooks and gadgets to the centre. The Australian retailer has completed a deal on a 1,100sq ft unit adjacent to global fashion brand H&M, as it establishes itself within the UK retail market.
Josh Molloy, global head of property for Smiggle said: “As a new entrant to the UK market, it’s important that we select the right locations for our brand to grow. intu Bromley offers us a great customer catchment through its considered and aspirational retail mix.”
Earlier this year Dutch vendor HEMA, also recognised the benefits of intu centres choosing to house its first UK shopping centre store at intu Bromley.
Monsoon is increasing its presence in the town by joining existing centre retailer and sister company Accessorize. The retailer will be upsizing to a combined 4,101sq ft unit, adjacent to Fraser Hart and L’Occitane.
A spokesperson from Monsoon said: “Our existing store at intu Bromley has traded well. It made sense to combine our customer offerings into a larger unit and benefit from the investment to the centre.”
intu Bromley, in an affluent part of South East London, is benefiting from a £24 million continuous improvement programme including a proposed restaurant terrace overlooking Queen’s Gardens plus more catering within the centre, and a boutique cinema.
Rebecca Ryman, regional director for intu, said: “intu Bromley is a magnet for aspirational shoppers throughout South London and Kent. The attraction of new international brands and the upsizing of an existing retailer is proof of how robust Bromley is as a retail destination.”
The centre’s 17m annual footfall has also attracted other major retailers, including Apple, Reebok, The White Company and Superdry over the last couple of years.
More recently the centre has welcomed the arrival of Thomas Sabo, White Stuff and Italian eatery, Carluccio’s.
