Lend Lease Retail Partnership (LLRP), a fund managed by Lendlease, has today announced that Next is to upsize its store at Touchwood, the leading retail destination in the West Midlands. Next is to create a new 25,000sq ft store trading from two floors on Touchwood’s Crescent Arcade, adjacent to River Island, H&M and the recently opened Monsoon.
The store will implement the brand’s latest design, and stock the full range of Next products, including womenswear, menswear, childrenswear accessories. Work is underway and the new store is due to complete this month. A new shoe room on womenswear and menswear is being created as part of the upsize, and childrenswear is being expanded. During the works the store will continue to trade.
In addition to Next, Pandora is relocating into Touchwood to create a new 3,400sq ft boutique. The store, which is opposite John Lewis on Crescent Arcade, will sell Pandora’s complete range, including the Pandora Essence and Rose Collections. Pandora will open this autumn.
Guy Thomas, head of retail asset management at Lendlease, said: “Next’s decision to upsize follows their consistently strong performance at Touchwood. We have worked closely with the team to create the ideal store format, as a consequence of which Next will be creating its new regional brand flagship. At the same time, Pandora is a great complement to Touchwood’s existing mix, which provides visitors with the most comprehensive retail and leisure offer in the West Midlands.”
A spokesperson from Next, said: “We have great loyal customers in the Solihull area and, because of this, we thought it was only right to increase the store size. Doing so will not only bring more products, but make the shopping experience more enjoyable too.”
In the last 12 months, Lendlease has added significantly to Touchwood’s line-up, including Monsoon, Joules, Thomas Cook, Smiggle and Five Guys. Detailed discussions are also underway with a number of other leading brands, with further names expected to open in Touchwood before Christmas.
CBRE and Strutt & Parker acted for Lendlease. Next dealt direct and Stephen Kane & Co represented Pandora.
