Next’s partners with Denise Lewis on range of activewear essentials

High street stalwart Next is partnering with Olympic athlete and gold medallist Denise Lewis OBE to release the first ever Denise Lewis Edit for Spring 2021 – a functional and stylish range of activewear essentials engineered for ‘the gym of life’.

Designed for busy lifestyles and women on the go, the debut edit features performance clothing essentials such as leggings, sports bras and breathable tops – all of which are available in sizes 6 to 22 or XS to XXL.

The range launches exclusively on the Next website on the 21st December and in selected stores on the 30th December.

The debut Denise Lewis Edit features the Olympian’s favourite pieces from the Next Active range. Tested and approved by Denise herself, the range is suitable for a host of different workouts – from high intensity training to low impact stretching and yoga – making her debut edit a versatile one-stop-shop for all your activewear needs.

Merging functional with flattering, the pieces boast all the important practical details required of an activewear collection – lightweight, breathable fabrics in plain and printed designs keep the wearer cool, while inner waistbands and side pockets ensure her phone or keys remain secure.

Sweat-wicking squat-proof leggings also ensure maximum comfort and manoeuvrability during workouts, whilst providing shape and lift to the legs too.

“I am seriously impressed with Next’s range of activewear – I’ve been road-testing these pieces for months now. From squat-proof leggings (which don’t fall down!) to sports bras fit for various workout types – there’s something for every shape and size,” said Lewis.

After previously working out alongside Olympic athletes, mother-of-four Denise now finds herself training with everyday women striving to reach their personal bests.

As such, her debut range with Next truly empathises with busy women and mums on the go who aren’t always able to carve out time for a gym session or morning run in amongst other duties and responsibilities.

“I’m not even sure how I juggle being a mum of four kids. You’ve just gotta have a positive mindset and be really clear with what you want to get out of the day but know that you can’t fit everything in. Don’t beat yourself up,” said Denise Lewis

Denise has engineered her activewear edit for ‘the gym of life’ – whether that’s

lunging to pick up toys or jogging to the school gates at 3pm. Versatile and easy to throw on, the edit is designed to be the perfect accompaniment to the busy woman’s wardrobe.

“What I love about activewear is that it’s easy. It doesn’t matter what time of the day I put it on. It’s simple. I can go to the gym, I can pick up the kids from school. It’s just comfortable and I feel good in it.” – Denise Lewis

Comprised of performance clothing such as leggings and sports bras, the Denise Lewis Edit also features key athleisure staples including super soft sweaters and heavier weight hoodies. These comfortable wardrobe basics are appropriate for both working out and working from home.

“I just love this zip up hoody, it’s such a strong piece. It’s perfect to throw on whether you’re coming from the gym and heading out to go shopping or picking up the kids, it’s just easy. The attention to detail is fabulous, a little bit edgy – I like,” said Lewis.

Next has also developed technical trainers as part of the Denise Lewis Edit. Suitable for running and high impact activities, these sports shoes are lightweight yet supportive, available in four colours and with a moulded heel to prevent inward or outward pronation.

“These trainers are great for running or high impact activity. They’re really comfy and supportive – my feet don’t slip inside and they really grip the ground,” said Lewis.
