O2 launches ‘Feel good shopping’ for sustainable mobile retail

Virgin Media O2 has partnered with Kindred to launch ‘Feel good shopping’ a unique sustainable shopping service. The new retail shopping feature will help customers save money and support eco projects while shopping online. 

The exclusive ‘Feel Good Shopping’ feature is now live in the My O2 app giving customers discounts and deals at over 70% of the top UK online retailers and more than 20,000 retailers in total. The new features, which works like a mobile browser extension, means that shoppers can make donations to reforestation and carbon offsetting every time they shop on their mobiles — while receiving discounts.

O2 Customers can view their ‘wallet’ in the My O2 app to see how much they have donated, how many trees they have planted, and how much carbon they have offset — all powered by Kindred and its partners.

In addition, The Feel Good Shopping feature empowers customers to make more informed decisions about where to shop, with ‘Earthmark’ scores for participating retailers highlighting their sustainability performance.

Kindred’s solution can be integrated by any app owner or publisher to give their users access to the discount network, which includes over 20,000 online stores. These discounts can be used to encourage engagement, drive loyalty through in app rewards, or promote positive CSR initiatives like reforestation or carbon offsetting. At the same time, the solution provides an incremental revenue stream for app creators, sharing in the commission paid out by the discount networks on every transaction.

O2 customers can access Feel Good Shopping via the My O2 app, currently available on iOS, with Android scheduled for later in the Summer. O2 is the latest partner to integrate Kindred’s revenue and loyalty solution. The solution which gives users access to the shopping discount network, can be used to encourage engagement, drive loyalty through in app rewards, or promote positive ESG initiatives like reforestation or carbon offsetting. The latter enables publishers to collect Carbon Credits to be used in the offset of their own Scope 1,2,3 programs and meet internal ESG targets.
