Oak Furnitureland, the UK’s leading retailer of solid wood furniture, has announced the appointment of Mike Coupe as its chairman, effective from 4th January 2021.
Coupe led Sainsbury’s for six years as CEO including architecting its takeover of Home Retail Group. In a career spanning 35 years, Coupe has also worked at a number of the UK’s leading retail businesses including Iceland, Asda and Tesco.
Commenting on the appointment, Alex Fisher, chief executive officer said, “Mike has invaluable experience working at the very top level of the retail sector and he will play a key role as we implement our growth plans over the next few years. It’s great to have him on board.”
