One Stop has appointed an independent retail stalwart to its franchise team, as the group makes solid progress towards launching the One Stop brand in Scotland.

Having spent over 30 years in the independent retail sector, Jim Carroll brings a wealth of experience to the growing franchise operation. Carroll has worked in a variety of operational and business development roles with the likes of CJ Lang (Spar), Andrew James Partnership, SCS Scotland (Spar), Margiotta and United Wholesale. For the last 10 years, Carroll was with Musgrave as a regional sales manager for their Londis brand, working across Scotland.

In his role as a franchise business development manager for Scotland, Carroll will initially be responsible for bringing new retailers on board, but his remit will then expand to helping franchisees grow their businesses, via a regular monthly development visit.

John Miller, head of operations – One Stop Franchise, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Jim to the franchise team.  His knowledge of Scotland’s independent retail scene, as well as his strong operational background, will be invaluable as we introduce our brand to new communities across the central belt.”

One Stop announced plans to bring its brand to Scotland in late 2014 and the franchise team is currently dealing with over 100 enquiries from independent retailers. The move into Scotland will encompass both franchise and company-owned stores, with the first One Stop store due to open in the coming months.
