One Stop franchisee marks first anniversary year and trebles store size

A One Stop franchisee is celebrating his first anniversary of trading with One Stop by completing a major expansion programme and trebling the size of his store in the process.

Umesh Gola joined One Stop Franchise in August last year and had his EPoS system installed almost exactly a year ago.  Having been at the site near Leigh in Lancashire for the last 28 years, Umesh decided that his switch to One Stop was the ideal opportunity to expand his store and widen his appeal to the local community. This major undertaking has involved Umesh moving further along the parade of shops that he owns, taking up two of the four units instead of the previous single unit and moving an existing hairdresser’s into his original store.  In addition to his own store, moving the hairdresser’s also meant that Umesh had to refit that unit out to the highest standard, before he could move onto the final stage. Throughout the entire process, Gola has kept his store trading over the last twelve months, to ensure his customers still have somewhere to shop locally.

Having undergone the expansion and refit in three stages, the store was finally rebranded as a One Stop at the weekend and celebrated with a launch party that saw a great turnout from the local community. The store, in Chestnut Drive South, Pennington now offers a sales area of 1,614sq ft, compared to the original size of 570sq ft.  As a result, all ranges have been extended, to offer customers the choice they’d expect from a One Stop across chilled, grocery, frozen and off-licence, as well as its great meal deals and renowned offers. And with a pointer to the next generation, the personalisation of the store ‘working with Khushal’s’ is named after Gola’s young son.
