One Stop Franchise has gained another regional cluster, with five new franchisees opening up in the space of five weeks in the Stoke-on-Trent area. With Darlington, Leeds, Cardiff and Scunthorpe already featuring multiple franchise stores, Stoke is the latest location to reap the rewards of the new proposition in neighbourhood retailing.

All of the stores switched from various symbol groups and have undergone the usual One Stop refit, re-opening between mid-October and mid-November. To date all stores are reported to have received excellent feedback on the One Stop offer, with customers loving their new shopping experience, in particular the great promotions, cheaper prices and excellent product ranges, One Stop Franchise claims.

The new franchisees represent a diverse mix of independent retailers, with stores ranging from Anne and Mark Trinder’s 1,000sq ft site in Eccleshall Road, Stone up to Raj Sangha’s 2,700sq ft store in Dividy Road, Stoke. Stephen Green’s village store is based in the famous home of Wedgwood pottery, Barlaston, while the new One Stop Franchise on Community Drive in Smallthorne owned by Muhammed Riaz lives up to its location by being a real hub of the community.

The Stoke quintet is completed by the oldest established store within the franchise estate to date, which is owned by Jim Benbow and located on the outskirts of Stoke in Ipstones. This rural store serves a wide ranging farming community on the edge of the Staffordshire moorlands up towards Leek. The site has been serving customers at the same location for over 100 years and has a fantastic collection of photos charting its development over the years.
