Payzone UK, a leading consumer payments network, has teamed up with the world’s largest online poker site, PokerStars, to provide its customers with convenient access to account top-ups.

The deal marks a significant expansion into the gaming sector for Payzone, with PokerStars top-ups available on the 20,000 terminals in the company’s nationwide estate. The partnership will allow customers to top up their online PokerStars account instantly by entering the unique code from a top-up voucher purchased at a Payzone outlet.

According to Payzone, the PokerStars partnership creates a new revenue stream for its merchants, attracting a wider customer demographic and expanding the reach of its products. It will also provide a convenient way for new and existing PokerStars customers to top-up their accounts, particularly for those wary of online transactions or wanting a fast alternative to using a personal bank account.

Mark Mellor, sales director at Payzone, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with our first major client in the gaming sector and the deal with PokerStars is particularly exciting as online gaming is rapidly growing in popularity. We’re also expecting plenty of future opportunities in this sector. The partnership is testament to our ongoing commitment to ensure new products are regularly added to the Payzone terminal.”

Richard Connolly at PokerStars said: “It’s great to be able to offer our existing and new customers an additional convenient payment method. Not all customers have, or want to use, a personal bank account for online transactions so being able to buy top-ups offline is essential. Payzone’s terminals are easily accessible for our customers across the country and we’re confident it will be a successful partnership.”
