Pet care trade fair ANIDO 2020 is 85% booked with traditional and new exhibitors

ANIDO 2020 will take place on 16-17 February 2020 at Kortrijk Xpo. The 21st edition of this biannual trade fair for the whole pet care sector in Benelux and northern France offers a specialist range of products, accessories and services for around 500 brands in the pet supplies sector. The last fair,
held in 2018, welcomed 5000 visitors: pet shops, grooming salons, garden centres, grain/seed/animal feed and fertiliser businesses, the aquarium trade, wholesalers, DIY businesses, vets, dog breeders and others.

ANIDO 2020 is already 85% booked up with both traditional and new exhibitors

Five months ahead of the start of ANIDO, 95 enterprises are already on the list of exhibitors. That’s 10 more businesses than at the same time ahead of the previous fair. In practical terms, this means that 85% of the available surface area has already been sold out.

These figures indicate that the event enjoys the confidence of suppliers and manufacturers in the national and international pet care markets. ANIDO is regarded as THE trade fair in Benelux and northern France, and not to be missed. That was emphasised by the fact that the forthcoming fair will again be attended by a large delegation of companies from the Netherlands.

What’s more, once again there will also be a number of companies from abroad (including the United Kingdom, Italy, Estonia, France and Germany) who see ANIDO as the ideal platform for finding distributors in the Belgian or Benelux markets. The ANIDO team is actively scanning the foreign market, searching for innovative companies that can mean added value for visitors. That ensures that ANIDO visitors can get a clear overview of the dominant trends in both the domestic and foreign pet care markets.

Fringe programme reacts to current trends

Traditionally, visitors to ANIDO start their tour around the fair in the New@Anido area, where the many novelties offered by exhibitors are presented in a convenient way. This area offers a good idea of current developments in the sector. This year’s innovations will doubtless be dominated by naturalness and sustainability, two hot topics that will certainly be the focus for manufacturers.

Some of the newcomers to ANIDO 2020 will be presenting an offering that focuses specifically on these trends. On Sunday visitors will also be able to vote for the best innovation in two categories: food and accessories. Once again, they’ll also be able to attend a wide range of interesting talks during our ‘Meet the Experts’ feature. Here we aim to explain the topics that concern pet care businesses today and tomorrow, including entrepreneurship and the digitalisation of the sector.

The intention is to provide hand-on presentations that inspire visitors and offer them ideas that they can apply directly on the sales floor. Some real-life case studies are also planned: pet care professionals offer their colleagues a virtual behind-the-scenes look at their businesses, and show
how they approach the present and future challenges of their companies.

Despite consolidation in the market, the organisation has observed during previous fairs that interest in ANIDO continues to grow. The trade fair assembles a full range under one roof, keeps a finger on the pulse of the latest market developments, and brings visitors into contact with both
traditional market players and new (foreign) producers. What’s more, ANIDO provides the ideal forum for networking with new and existing business contacts in a relaxed atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the blend of constant values and innovation, and that is reflected in the high attendance
