Piccolo debuts split pot range in baby food category

This March Piccolo is proud to be launching Piccolo Pots: a brand-new range of baby meals that bring a world first packaging innovation to the category and expands Piccolo’s offering in to Stage 3 meals.

Piccolo Pots are a delicious range of Mediterranean inspired meals based around textured grains with a tasty, vegetable packed sauce – all in clever split pots. The range will launch with three initial recipes, Quinoa with Vegetable Ratatouille; Baby Pasta with Vegetable & Kale Pesto and Baby Pasta with Sweet Potato Bolognese before additional recipes are rolled out later in the year.

After winning a listing in Tesco for the first time, Piccolo’s new range will be stocked in all Tesco Super and Extra stores, with additional shelf space secured for Piccolo’s award-winning range of pouches and multipacks across Stage 1 and 2.

Never seen before in baby food, these split pots ensure the vegetables retain their nutrients whilst the grains keep their texture – something that is vital for babies’ development

Using ingredients sourced from family farms across the Mediterranean, the pasta is handmade by artisan pasta makers in Italy.  Choosing the best quality Italian durum wheat to make the pasta, and spring water from the surrounding mountains, they use ancient pasta traditions and a bronze mould, which is thought to produce superior pasta, as well as allowing the pasta to hold onto more sauce – crucial in a proper Italian pasta dish.

Piccolo’s founder, Cat Gazzoli, says: “It has long been our ambition to help parents moving on from baby purees to the next step in weaning, and we have worked very hard to develop our new range of Piccolo Pots.  By using the innovative split pot packaging, we have ensured our meals retain maximum nutrition and texture.  We are thrilled and so proud to be launching in Tesco, helping us bring our nutritious and tasty range of baby food to even more parents around the country.”

The Piccolo Pots range launches in Tesco, Waitrose, Ocado and Morrisons from March with an RRP of £2.79
