Poundland will open its new store in Skelmersdale, Lancashire, on Saturday 1 February, offering customers an even wider range of products.
Part of the new store will be devoted to the full range of Poundland’s popular PEP&CO fashion for the whole family, bringing a new brand of affordable clothing to Skelmersdale.
The “shop-in-shop” will include an even wider range of children’s clothing than usual to give families more choice in kidswear.
At nearly 12,000SQ FT, the new store at 30-32 The Concourse Centre is more than three times larger than the nearby Poundland store it replaces and is one of Poundland’s top 25 stores by size in Britain and Ireland.
Poundland’s investment in the Skelmersdale store is a vote of confidence in the town. The new store will employ 19 people, creating eight new jobs.
A wide range of groceries, health and beauty and homeware products are on sale from 50p to £5 under the store’s simple pricing policy. Three quarters of products will, of course, be at Poundland’s famous £1 price point.
The introduction of PEP&CO means families can shop for womenswear, menswear, baby products and an extended range of kidswear. Popular children’s items include schoolwear such as polo shirts, skirts and trousers as well as children’s fashions such as girls’ leggings and boys’ long-sleeved T-shirts. Prices start at £1 and 95 per cent of the range is under £10.
Austin Cooke, Poundland retail director, said: “We have been part of the Skelmersdale community for years and we’re now delighted to be moving to a better store in the Concourse centre.
“It means we can offer a wider range of everyday products than ever and we look forward to welcoming shoppers through our doors so they can make the most of the amazing value and convenience.
“Customers have told us that they can’t wait for us to start selling PEP&CO clothes in Skelmersdale. Kidswear is such an important part of the family shop and we’ll be selling schoolwear with our 101-day guarantee and fashion that is amazing value for the price.”
