Tastily (https://tastily.co.uk/), the fresh, pre-made meal subscription service, has teamed up with school children in London to create three new dishes for its menu as part of its ongoing partnership with Chefs In Schools (https://tastily.co.uk/content/tastily-chefs-in-schools), a charity that works with schools to educate children on healthy eating.

The children took part in a day of culinary creativity at the Hackney School of Food with the Tastily chefs and Chef Tom Walker, Head Food Educator at the school. Inspired by the children’s favourite dishes to eat, together, they created three new dishes, which will be added to the  Tastily offering while raising money for the charity.

The new dishes will be available on the Tastily website from the 1 September 2021 and include:

  • Macaroni Cheese with Roasted Vegetables (Plant-based) – Cheesy Pasta with Roasted Mediterranean Vegetables, Steamed Leeks with a Toasted Seedy Crust
  • Macaroni Cheese with Ham Hock – Cheesy Pasta with Pulled Ham Hock, Steamed Leeks & Pea with a Toasted Seedy Crust
  • Jerk Chicken with Rice and Beans – Tender Spiced Chicken Thigh, Rice & Peas, Caribbean Roasted Vegetables with Plantain & Pineapple

Too many children are missing out on a healthy relationship with food through a lack of exposure to cooking early in their lives. By forming the long-standing partnership with Chefs In Schools, Tastily hopes to be part of the solution in driving a new generation of food lovers. The purchase of every Tastily box will fund the ingredients for a child’s cookery course with Chefs In Schools.

Tastily produces and delivers the next-generation of meals for modern foodies who are short on time. The meals are created by Michelin-trained chefs and free from artificial ingredients, preservatives or refined sugar and never frozen. Instead, the brand uses cutting-edge packaging technology to keep each dish fresh for seven days, so subscribers never have to compromise on great taste and good health.

Will McDowell, Tastily founder, said: “We’re thrilled to be adding three new permanent dishes on our menu following our collaboration with London kids and Chefs In School. These mini culinary stars have created some really exciting new meals, which will raise money for Chefs In School, supporting the organisation in its mission to educate children on healthy eating. We’re proud to support the charity and believe it is vital for all kids to have the opportunity to understand how to eat well”.

Chef Tom: “It’s great to have Tastily on board to support our charity. I believe that a seed-to-spoon experience instils a curiosity in children to discover where their food comes from, and that building confidence in the kitchen to prepare and cook meals will set them up to make healthy informed food choices for life. Our partnership with Tastily is helping Chefs in School will achieve this goal and it is wonderful for the children to be able to see their own dishes available on the service to people all over the country.”

The service starts at £32.00, with individuals able to order four to fourteen meals a week, all with free delivery direct to the door. Dishes can be bought in any combination so people in the same household can enjoy different dishes at the same mealtimes, to suit differing tastes and dietary requirements. Individuals can even choose single portions or upgrade to larger sizes.

Orders need to be checked out before Friday at 12pm for delivery the following Wednesday, or before Tuesday at 12pm for delivery on Saturday. The delivery can also be scheduled further in advance.
