Preston not Heston: Booths launches range of quirky reusable shopping bags

Shoppers across the North can now mark the 5p bag tax which the government launched on 5 October in style.

Northern retailer Booths has responded to the new legislation, which is designed to reduce litter and encourage sustainable bag use, by designing a brand new range of witty regional re-useable bags – which will be available across its stores.

Julie Mills, marketing manager at Booths, said: “Our new shopper bags are the ideal shopping companions, with sturdy handles and generous capacity.  We’ve had some fun coming up with regional slogans to make customers smile, and we hope they will help our customers do their bit for the environment. I’m sure they will quickly become indispensable!”

Booths will also donate a proportion from every 5p charged for single-use bags to the rural charity the Prince’s Countryside Fund, which gives grants to people who support the countryside.
