Pret A Manger taps The Logic Group to satisfy consumer hunger for contactless payments

Payments, insights and loyalty specialist, The Logic Group, has announced retailer Pret A Manger has chosen its Solve Centurion Managed Service platform for quick and secure payments in its European stores. The company will be able to support the latest contactless payment cards, reducing queuing times and improving the overall customer experience.

Boasting 367 stores across four territories, Pret A Manger is a leading food retailer that places an emphasis on ensuring quick and friendly service to each of its customers, aiming to serve each and every customer in a minute or less. The company was one of the first chains to accept contactless payments in the UK: with contactless payments now accounting for over 40% of all transactions in its UK stores. Pret A Manger has hailed the technology as a considerable factor in delivering a quick and convenient service to customers.

By choosing The Logic Group, Pret A Manger said it now has the most up to date contactless payment environment available allowing it to be confident of supporting the widest range of contactless cards including adding support for American Express contactless. In addition it also supports the latest EMV standard for Diners and Discover cards. With locations in busy town and city centres, often in tourist hotspots, it is important that all of its stores are able to support as wide a range of cards as possible – with international support vital in meeting the needs of its customer base.

Pret A Manger said the primary reason for choosing The Logic Group was to address its PCI requirements by using their market-leading, validated Point to Point Encryption (P2PE) solution. By implementing The Logic Group’s P2PE solution, Pret A Manger has significantly lowered the scope of its Payment Cards Industry (PCI) audit. This in turn has reduced the associated costs of the company’s yearly audit by reducing the time and hassle it will take to complete. This will free up a significant amount of man hours which can be instead devoted to ensuring customers receive the quality of service and products they associate with Pret A Manger. Additionally, Pret A Manger has been able to consolidate the payment platform used in its French and UK stores with The Logic Group.
