Eco-friendly cleaning brand Purdy & Figg is launching a campaign to encourage customers to ban the bleach in their homes this Christmas and opt for natural, non-toxic cleaning products.
Bleach is a highly reactive chemical that can be harmful to your health, especially when combined with other cleaners. Purdy & Figg was founded by an NHS nurse and horticulturist who are passionate about removing these harmful chemicals from cleaning products and creating a healthier home for friends and family. Bleach and other toxic chemicals are so harsh that they can also eat away and degrade certain surfaces over time, when all you really need is simple, natural ingredients that clean effectively.
Having launched Counter Clean, a refillable natural cleaning spray last month, Purdy & Figg has introduced a Frankincense & Myrrh cleaning concentrate for the festive period available from 19th November 2021. Containing a warm and spicy essential oil blend, the limited edition concentrates will help customers create a beautifully scented home whilst cleaning their homes with effective, natural ingredients and avoiding harsh products like bleach.
Made using 100% naturally-derived ingredients, Counter Clean works by binding to grease, grime and dirt along with bacteria, viruses and mould, actively removing them to thoroughly clean the surface. When using antibacterial cleaners, particularly those containing Triclosan, you do not clean away the dirt but simply kill 99.9% of bacteria and allow the 0.1% of microbes that have developed antibiotic resistance to flourish. The majority of household disinfectant sprays are most effective when left to sit on the surface for 5-15 minutes whereas the non-ionic surfactants in Counter Clean work instantly to separate microbes from the surface, working more efficiently than the harsh toxic chemicals.
Purdy & Figg’s innovative concentrate formula, packaged in beautiful recyclable 20ml glass bottles, is dilutable with ordinary tap water in the refillable 300ml glass ‘Bottle for Life’, removing single-use plastic and reducing overall carbon emissions.
“As you prepare your home to host family and friends this Christmas we urge you to avoid harsh, toxic chemicals that can have potentially harmful effects and make the switch to simple, natural ingredients that really do work” say Purdy & Figg co-founders, Charlotte Figg and Purdy Rubin.
Frankincense & Myrrh Counter Clean Starter Kits are available from 19th November, with three cleaning concentrates, a Bottle for Life and a premium microfibre towel.
