PZ Cussons appoints web firm, Inviqa, to deliver global digital technology strategy

PZ Cussons, the FTSE 250 company and maker of many major household brands including Imperial Leather, Carex and St.Tropez, has appointed web development firm, Inviqa, to help deliver its digital technology strategy.

Devised to support PZ Cussons’ wider digital marketing plans, the strategy will see the creation of a global enterprise digital technology platform to support all of PZ Cusson’s brand sites and e-commerce solutions.

Inviqa, which is a specialist in quality web development at enterprise level using Open Source technology, will deliver the platform and provide support services to PZ Cussons on a global scale. The following features will be included:

  • Reusable components such as search, content pages, category pages and newsletter subscriptions which can and will be shared across multiple brand sites
  • Digital data gathering to gain business intelligence and insights to help identify future marketing opportunities

With a predicted 1.5bn mobile web users worldwide and high dependence on feature phones in PZ Cussons’ major markets of Africa and Asia, the company recognised that it needed to rethink its digital strategy and place greater focus on multiple device compatibility. Inviqa said its expertise in responsive web design will ensure that all content can be displayed and viewed across desktops, tablets, feature phones and smart phones.

Anthony Duffin, digital solutions manager at PZ Cussons, said: “We conducted a thorough selection process to find a technology partner that would meet our expectations, and Inviqa’s four columns of business – consultancy, web development, training and support – offer the level of expertise to support us long term throughout the life cycle of all of PZ Cussons’ digital projects.

“The strategy will also enable us to drive cost efficiencies via global enterprise agreements and economies of scale and we will be using the digital data we mine during this process for target marketing opportunities and business intelligence.”

Boaz Tal, business dvelopment manager at Inviqa, said: “Unique in its size and caliber, PZ Cussons boasts many leading brands spanning the globe in both emerging and current markets. Together we believe that by evoking the essence of traditional marketing and transferring it to digital, the static sell of the past can become the dynamic sell of today.

“We’re honoured to be working with a prestigious organisation like PZ Cussons and look forward to the developments our partnership will bring.”
