Euromonitor International: focusing on retail trends in Retail Spotlight series

Retail Times has teamed up with leading retail research company Euromonitor International to reveal the latest retail trends and packaging innovations from markets around the world.

The collaboration will include a regular monthly column, Retail Spotlight, focusing on key themes in retailing – store and non-store based activities including internet, home selling and vending.

The articles will draw on Euromonitor’s extensive market reach around the globe and latest retail developments. The company’s coverage spans 80 markets for retail research plus 30 countries, extrapolated to 52, for packaging news and developments.

Launching this month (January 2012), Jon Wright, head of retailing research and Ben Punchard, head of packaging research at Euromonitor International; will provide dynamic insights into the latest retail developments. Their columns will be supported by both retailer and market data plus ‘Datagraphics’ – Euromonitor’s graphic-based snapshots highlighting key themes. 

Wright will kick off the Retail Spotlight series with an article exploring the modernisation of grocery retailing. Future topics will examine the future of the hypermarket, packaging for direct selling in emerging economics, private label and the evolution of venture brands and food service within retail and food-to-go.

The articles are designed to provide Retail Times’ readers with timely and tailored research and information to point them in the right retail direction.
