Shaken Udder Milkshakes enjoy sales boom in tenth anniversary year


In a year when it celebrated its tenth anniversary, premium milkshake brand, Shaken Udder, reports it also enjoyed its best year for sales growth with some accounts growing by 62%.

For 10 years Shaken Udder has been producing its 100% natural milkshakes and gaining key contracts to supply Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Tesco with its standard milkshakes and new launch, Shaken Udder Kids range.

Throughout 2014 it saw its accounts with grow by 62% outside of the big retailers and with Tesco 24%, while overall sales increased by 10.68%, proving that there is a place for quality products on the supermarket shelves.

In fact, a survey, conducted as part of its six-month on-pack promotion, concluded that Shaken Udder customers buy the products for their taste and quality and price is of low consideration.

The brand’s founder, Jodie Farran, is very pleased with the end of year results.

“Building our business from scratch over the last ten years has been massively challenging, rewarding and we have learnt so much,” she said. “With all this knowledge it should be a really exciting next 10 years. It is great to hit this milestone and still be here going so strong and 2014 was our best year to date.

“Last year was another real learning curve for us, we’d just launched Shaken Udder Kids which is a whole new market and gained new listings with those products, we also ran our largest ever on-pack promotion.

“It seems these activities have had a strong impact on our year-end results so it’s great to know we are doing things right. Our survey was also a real eye-opening, and proved to us, what we’ve always thought we knew, that quality and taste really is more important than price.”

Looking to the year ahead, there are lots of exciting plans for the brand: “We are looking at NPD for Shaken Udder and we are also venturing into export for the first time, while also continuing to consider our festival audience in the summer. It’s going to be a busy year, but it’s fantastic to be able to keep moving the brand forward,” said Farran.

Shaken Udder produces a standard 300ml bottle range of milkshakes in Chocolush, Top Banana and Vanillalicious, it’s 200ml kids cartons are available in Strawberry,
