SharkNinja partners with Entrepreneurial Scotland to offer internship opportunities

SharkNinja, the leading home technology firm, has partnered with Entrepreneurial Scotland to offer four students prestigious internship opportunities in mechanical engineering and product design engineering.

Facilitated by the Entrepreneurial Scotland Foundation, the internship offers penultimate year Scottish university students fully remunerated internship opportunities and the chance to gain invaluable working experience. Other partners to the Foundation include GSK, Barclays, Network Rail and The National Trust for Scotland.

The interns will work within SharkNinja’s prestigious engineering team, responsible for developing the products which have grown Shark to be the UK’s best-selling vacuum cleaner brand and Ninja the UK’s best-selling multicooker brand.

The interns will be involved in helping to create a new generation of innovative products across the Ninja range. Their roles will focus on proof of concept and technology validation as part of the overall design process, with a view to future mass manufacture.

Lauren McMullan, vice president & general manager of London at SharkNinja, says: “After a successful first intake from the programme in 2021 and even having Entrepreneurial Scotland alumni on our staff, we are acutely aware of the benefits of bringing interns on board – not only for the development of the young people themselves, but for the success of our business. The importance of bringing young talent with different backgrounds, experiences and views on board cannot be understated. We are looking forward to seeing the interns develop as they experience what I am confident will be a transformative and exciting year in industry.”

Gillian McGill, business engagement manager for Entrepreneurial Scotland Foundation, added: “It’s exciting to be partnering with such a forward-thinking organisation whose values align so well with ours. SharkNinja is passionate about opening up the engineering profession to people from all backgrounds and walks of life. Through our programme, we’re delighted to be facilitating four talented students will gain first-class experience on a global scale. This is an incredible opportunity which will help to shape their future careers.”
