SodaStream, the leading sparkling water brand, has today revealed its new 2020 holiday campaign featuring hip-hop superstar Snoop Dogg, which encourages people to enjoy ‘the small, meaningful things’ this festive season.
The global campaign is SodaStream’s largest to date and the entertainment legend stars in a video which embraces the magic of the festive season, directed by SNL Digital Shorts director Jake Szymanski. It reminds people how important it is to celebrate the small things in life, this year more than ever, whilst also encouraging them to reduce the amount of single-use plastic they use.
The campaign carries these important messages in SodaStream’s classic light-hearted fashion, with superstar Snoop Dogg showing how he will be celebrating the holidays by replacing big plans with staying at home and enjoying the small, meaningful things. In the video, Snoop sits down to spend quality time with his family at the dinner table, but his kids are struggling to stay off their screens – in a humorous twist, everyone, even the family dog, resembles Snoop Dogg, a.k.a ‘The Doggfather’ himself. In another scene, Snoop does a touch of ‘light’ baking making gingerbread biscuits, which culminates in the hip-hop legend creating a giant gingerbread house!
As always, SodaStream also delivers its environmental message when Snoop is joined by an animated sea turtle, calling on people to make the small change to switch from buying single-use plastic water bottles to reusable ones. Just one reusable SodaStream bottle can save thousands of single-use plastic bottles from being used, proving how one small change can help to make a big impact on the planet.
“At SodaStream we always encourage people to make a positive change. This year we really went all in to deliver a campaign everyone can relate to, a campaign on what’s important” commented SodaStream Global CMO Karin Schifter Maor. “SodaStream is the ultimate small change to reduce single-use plastic waste, and Snoop Dogg is a great partner to help widely spread this message in a fun way.”
“I love my Sodastream so it was natural for me to partner up with them for this campaign. They make a great product and a big difference in the world. I am happy to help spread the love!“ said Snoop Dogg.
Esteemed director Jake Szymanski directed the video, perfectly in line with the company’s playful tone and style. Szymanski’s credits include “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates”, “The Package,” several shorts for “Funny or Die” and “Saturday Night Live,” and most recently a Forrest Fenn inspired action comedy for Studio 8.
