Spar, a leading convenience store retailer, continues to develop its portfolio of evening meals solutions by inspiring customers with a huge new selection of own label products designed for the tonight’s tea meal occasion.
Available from 10 September 2020 a new range of Spar brand pizzas, chilled breads, ready meals and an array of prepared vegetables will be available in SPAR stores the length and breadth of the UK.
For the first time ever, Spar has developed a simple ‘mix and match’ evening meal deal for two at a price of £5. The main and side combinations create more than forty (40) unique and easy dinners that taste fantastic.
In addition the range will include a number of SPAR Brand desserts which has had a boost over the last 12 months with a number of fantastic additions.
Myles Mersh, Spar UK assistant brand manager, said: “It is essential to attract meal for tonight shoppers. Our new mix and match evening meal deal for two will encourage shoppers to cross-purchase and will keep them coming back again. This will signal Spar as a genuine destination for the dinner mission and drive sales in-store.
“Ninety-five percent (95%) of the ready meal market is in own-label and with seventy-one percent (71%) of consumers already looking to ready meals for a midweek meal solution; we know that seventy-nine percent (79%) of those customers would be interested in a meal deal mechanic. That’s why we are confident our new mix and match scheme will be a great hit with Spar shoppers.”
Spar’s evening meal range comprises protein, meal accompaniments, pizza, pasta and pasta sauce and complete ready meals. Ten new products are being added to the range; three ready meal lines, four prepared veg lines, two pizzas and one chilled flatbread.
Mersh added: “We know that vegan, healthy and low fat products, ethically sourced meat and world cuisine are very popular and our range of SPAR own label products perfectly complement these trends.”
The evening meals launch will be supported with POS, social media, e-newsletters, SPAR in-store radio, bulletins and in merchandising guides.
