Spar launches Easter theme to UK website to drive shopper spend

Spar is launching a new Easter section on its website, to show shoppers what’s in store and help families make the most of the occasion.

The Easter pages include fun and creative ‘Easter Eggy’ recipes; how to make chocolate flavoured cocktails and a downloadable Easter egg hunt – plus the chance to win a pair of tickets to Cadbury World.

To get children involved in the Easter fun, there are also colouring sheets and craft ideas such Easter baskets and bunting along with fun decorated eggs.

The section will also highlight Spar brand’s award winning range, which has everything shoppers need to enjoy the Easter Bank Holiday.

Spar UK is also introducing a new version of its mobile optimised game ‘Design a chick’, going live on 2 March. Users design a chick from a range of fun accessories and then enter their design into a prize draw to win some cracking prizes.

Meanwhile, Spar’s Easter TV ad will air from 26 March – 6 April, highlighting a promotion on three award winning wines and a selection of food perfect for Easter. This will feature on Spar’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Laura McNally, Spar UK senior marketing manager, said: “Easter is a key consumer event that presents major selling opportunities for Spar. Digital is an excellent medium to engage with younger audiences, communicate what we have to offer and also provide inspiration for delicious food and drink to enjoy the Easter break.

“This is a great time to communicate to an important segment of our target market: Mums with young kids who will be enjoying the school holidays, as well as younger females making the most of the Easter break,” she said.
