Daz: ChildLine initiative with Spar

Spar UK and P&G have teamed to raise a fantastic £5,421 for ChildLine, thanks to sales of Daz Auto Powder.

P&G donated 48p to ChildLine for every case of Daz purchased by four Spar wholesalers – Appleby Westward, James Hall & Co, CJ Lang and Son Ltd and AF Blakemore  – and between the wholesalers a total of a fantastic 11,295 cases were purchased.

The initiative ran from 17 June until 28 July 2013 on Daz Auto Powder and Daz Auto Powder Mandarin & Lime Splash, both of which have an RRP of £2.00.

Gemma Pidgeley, trading manager – grocery at Spar UK, said: “This was an excellent opportunity for Spar wholesalers and retailers to make a difference by teaming up with a leading supplier. We would like to thank P&G for their generosity in supporting ChildLine in partnership with Spar.”

Katey Bradshaw, retail channel controller on behalf of P&G, said: “We are delighted with the results of the partnership between Daz and Spar UK to support ChildLine.

“This was the first time P&G have supported ChildLine, and based on the success this is something that they will definitely consider repeating in the future.”

This year, in its continuing support for the charity, Spar is fundraising for the ChildLine Schools Service, a ground- breaking initiative and the only service of its kind, which has been set up to give primary school children the awareness they need to recognise abuse and seek help sooner.
