Spar Scotland retailer, CJ Lang, has launched a recruitment drive for independent retailers with a package worth up to £33,600 for stores converting to the Spar brand.
The package comprises up to £25,000 per store to help with conversion, including full refit project management and store advertising support. In addition, new members will benefit from free membership in the first year and an average of £5,600 earnings from the group’s Rewards scheme. According to Spar, the benefits total £33,600.
Claire Smith, sales and marketing director for Spar Scotland, said: “Independent convenience retailers are being faced with increased costs, increased competition and difficulties in obtaining credit.
“Our new package of incentives will help progressive retailers convert their stores to Spar. These significant benefits, combined with the unsurpassed level of support afforded by the group, will help businesses boost their profitability with one the most recognised and trusted brands in local shopping”.
The incentive package is also available to existing Spar members when they add a store to their portfolio.
