Spar is reopening its Romsley, Worcestershire, store next week after a five-month demolition and re-build project.
The store will open on 6 March 2012 with an official launch taking place on 10 March 2012 at 12pm.
To celebrate the store will be hosting food, wine and ale tasting with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 12.30pm.
There will also be entertainment for children in the form of a balloon modeller and a visit from Freddo the Frog courtesy of Cadbury.
A colouring competition for children from Our Lady and St Kenelms RC Primary School has aslo been organised.
Store owner Jag Purewal said: “This really is a state of the art village store. We’ve given it a very rural feel to make sure it fits in with its surrounding area, but have used a variety of modern equipment.
“We’ve also kept the store as eco-friendly and energy efficient as possible with doors on all of our chillers. The store will be selling many chilled and fresh products sourced from local suppliers.
“The project has taken five months to complete and it has been a lot of hard work, but the end result is worth it. The way the store has turned out is great.
“We look forward to becoming a massive part of the local community and will be happy to support many local schools, clubs and projects.”
The store will be issuing a bespoke leaflet highlighting introductory offers including three bottles of Blossom Hill wine for £10 and Ben and Jerry’s 500ml at £2.49.
Store services include a Post Office, free ATM and Lottery.
