Spar UK claims it is helping its retailers sweeten their sugar confectionery sales with a revamp of its own brand sharing range.

The refreshed confectionery range comprises 20 products including eight new  lines. The whole range has improved recipes and a new modern design. All lines are pricemarked at £1.00.

Additions to the range include nostalgic favourites such as Mint Imperials, Fruit Jellies, Jelly Beans, Clotted Cream Fudge and Rhubarb & Custard.

The quality of the range has been improved and the packaging design has been updated, helping Spar retailers give sweet-toothed customers more of what they’re looking for, the retailer claims.

Susan Darbyshire, Spar UK brand director, said: “The new sugar confectionery range and design has brought Spar Brand range up to date with a modern design and better flavours and textures that meet consumer expectations.

“Confectionery is eaten by nine in 10 (89%) adults, benefiting from its position as an affordable treat despite budgets being squeezed, and the category is growing primarily due to the rise in sharing formats as consumers stay at home to save money.

“We are confident the £1.00 pricemark will bring new consumers to the brand and increase its value perception to existing consumers.”
