Spar’s Christmas confectionery line-up taps impulse trend


Spar brand’s Christmas confectionery line-up is bringing retailers and shoppers alike the perfect last-minute festive gifts, the retailer claims.

The Christmas confectionery market has changed in convenience in recent years, with the emphasis more on impulse seasonal lines rather than selection boxes.

With this in mind, this year, Spar brand’s festive impulse confectionery range includes three of its top Christmas sellers:

·         Spar Santa Claus 150g (RRP £1.50)
·         Spar Milk Chocolate Gold Coins 75g (RRP 75p)
·         Spar Milk Chocolate Medallions 23g (RRP 50p)

Susan Darbyshire, Spar UK brand director, said: “As shoppers are increasingly looking for last-minute gifts in their local store, we have the perfect Christmas confectionery range in eye-catching designs, all ready for Spar retailers.

“By merchandising festive confectionery products together with other Christmas lines, and creating themed displays, our retailers can signpost to their customers that they can find all the items they need for their Christmas shopping missions.

“Shoppers start looking out for everything they need for the festive season earlier and earlier,” added Darbyshire. “That means retailers should also start planning for Christmas with a visible festive confectionery range, as soon as possible – ideally by the end of October.”

The Spar brand Christmas confectionery range will be available from 24 October.

Also, to help retailers make the most of these impulse treats, Spar brand has created limited edition Christmas packaging to create eye-catching in store theatre and draw attention to seasonal products. There is £335k sales opportunity for retailers on the Christmas packaging lines.

The simple design ties in with the PoS for stores over the festive period, to help attract customers’ attention.
