SportsDirect.com, the UK’s number one sports retailer, has opened a new mega store – the first of its kind in Scotland and only the third in the UK, in one of the main shopping streets in Glasgow city centre.

Occupying 49,401sq ft, the massive mega store on Argyle Street offers SportsDirect.com’s best loved specialist sportswear, sports equipment and fashion brands at guaranteed low prices. In addition there are dedicated in-store areas for high end street fashion retailer USC and trading space for other specialist retailers such as Robinson, Dragon Carp and Pulp. The new megastore provides the customer with an exceptional shopping experience.

Established in 1982, the company is now the UK’s largest sporting retailer with over 400 stores nationwide, catering for all the family and their sporting needs. The SportsDirect.com mega store showcases Nike, Adidas, Lonsdale, Puma and Dunlop as well as Firetrap and Kangol and also includes dedicated in-store areas for running, outdoor, football, golf and much more.

USC is the UK’s leading multi-branded retailer.  Known as the House of Brands, it offers a selection of the season’s premium denim, urban fashion and branded footwear for both men and women and showcases lifestyle brands such as Hilfiger Denim, Jack & Jones, 883 Police, G-Star Raw, Lacoste, Levi’s, Replay, Weekend Offender, Pretty Green, Vans, Puma, Converse, William Rast, Religion, Vero Moda, Only, Noisy May and Henri Lloyd.

The new store has created eight additional managerial roles in the area. A spokesperson for SportsDirect.com said: “As our company continues to grow throughout the UK, our ethos has never changed in that we offer something for all. Our customers get the biggest brands in all types of sportswear, footwear and sports equipment as well as fashion brands at our famously low prices.”

The SportsDirect.com store is located at the east end of Argyle Street, opposite G-Star Raw and Topshop.
