Subway merges Europe and Middle East regions to create new EMEA region

Subway stores today announced it has merged the Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions into a newly formed Subway EMEA region. This reflects the brand’s strategic plans to improve efficiencies and streamline the business. Joining the Subway team to lead this newly created region as president, EMEA is Mike Kehoe.          

Kehoe has 20 years of experience working in brand management roles across fast moving consumer goods, hospitality, advertising and consulting industries. He has significant global experience having worked in North America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Latin America. He most recently served as President, International for Focus Brands – an affiliate of the American private equity firm, Roark Capital Group – that currently owns the Schlotzsky’s, Carvel, Cinnabon, Moe’s Southwest Grill, McAlister’s Deli, Auntie Anne’s and Jamba brands.

Justin Goes, the current regional director in Europe has decided to step down as regional director but will continue as a multi-unit franchise owner. Goes will remain with the brand until the end of July 2020 to ensure a smooth transition. Nasir Zaman will remain as regional director for Middle East and Africa regions, reporting to Kehoe.

“I look forward to working with Justin and the entire EMEA Region to help continue to ensure our guests have the best experience possible at every store, and that we continue to grow the brand,” said Kehoe.

“I have had the pleasure of working for Subway for 17 years. I am proud of what we delivered but it is the right time, now, for me to pursue other avenues,” said Goes.

Subway EMEA will continue to operate from the existing Subway International regional office in Amsterdam.
