This week, Superdrug and Unilever announce a joint £50,000 donation to LGBTQ+ charity, Switchboard. Superdrug and Unilever are proud to be supporting this vital charity, which offers such an essential resource and service to the LGBTQ+ community.
Founded in 1974, Switchboard operates a nationwide helpline which offers the LGBTQ+ community a safe space to discuss sexuality, gender and identity. The helpline is open 10am – 10pm, 365 days a year thanks to dedicated volunteers, and answers an average of 15,000 calls throughout the year. Without the support of donors and volunteers, the charity would not be able to continue to provide this invaluable support for members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Superdrug and Unilever continue their three year Pride partnership in 2020, with a capsule collection of special edition rainbow wrapped products available exclusively at Superdrug. The rainbow emblazoned wrap is available across key products in the Lynx, Closeup, Simple and Vaseline ranges. The packaging of each special edition product includes the Switchboard logo and helpline number, helping to spread awareness around the initiative within the community.
Superdrug and Unilever are also proud to be supporters of the very first Brighton Digital Pride, taking place on the 1 of August (with many warm up events throughout July). In the absence of many real life pride festivals, Brighton Digital Pride will offer a free online festival, celebrating Britain’s diverse LGBTQ+ community.

Superdrug has worked closely with employees across the business and the internal LGBTQ+ Network to create the Superdrug Pride event this year. Our long standing internal network enables us to collaborate and align with the LGBTQ+ community to shape our campaigns.

Something we would honestly never be able to achieve on our own.”
