Friday 30 October 2020 will see the reopening of the newly updated Superdrug store in Silverburn Shopping Centre, Glasgow. The concept store is one of the biggest openings yet and the first of its kind in Scotland, measuring at 7,342sq ft and boasting the largest ever Beauty Studio in the retailer’s history. Superdrug Silverburn will offer customers the best of beauty treatments on the high street, as well as affordable health and beauty products, everyday toiletries and a range of luxury fragrances.
The store reopening is a success story for the high street after a period of uncertainty following the covid-19 pandemic. The store will feature a brand new Beauty Studio, creating 11 new jobs alone, on top of the existing beauty therapist and nail technician roles currently held in the store. Customers will find a menu of professional treatments available at affordable prices, including tinting and eyebrow shaping, false lash application and grooming services at the Barber Shop. The beauty therapist teams will be able to offer unrivalled treatments from renowned expert service brands, including ORLY Gel FX nail treatments, TIGI hair and Wahl barbering.
Health and safety of colleagues and customers in-store remains of paramount importance, to ensure everyone can experience an enjoyable yet safe shopping experience. A whole host of extra protective measures have been implemented at the Silverburn store and Beauty Studio, including signage to encourage social distancing, restrictions on the numbers of colleagues and customers in store at any one time, and additional protective equipment for teams including providing masks and gloves. Visors are also provided for all close contact services including brow and lash, piercing and hair. Superdrug have installed Perspex screens at till point, pharmacy counters, and in between all Beauty Studio treatment stations, areas are cleaned and disinfected after every customer. Superdrug also require all customers that are booked in to receive a treatment to complete a declaration form prior to their treatment being carried out, in order to support the track and trace programme.
As well as offering a selection of health and beauty products from best-loved brands the store will also offer a wide selection of Superdrug’s own brand products including cruelty free, vegan and vegetarian beauty and toiletries products, as well as essential healthcare products at great value prices. Over the next few weeks, customers can also take advantage of the excellent Black Friday deals on offer in store and online for their favourite products, as well as to help them with their gift shopping in the run up to Christmas.
Jerry Walkling, sales operations director at Superdrug, said: “We are delighted to be able to open our newly updated store to customers in Silverburn Shopping Centre and to support the high street at this time. The new Beauty Studio will be our largest yet, and we look forward to being able to offer a wide range of expert treatments, from nail treatments to hair styling, at affordable prices. We are sure our customers are going to love the new store!”
