St Peter’s Brewery has unveiled The Original Stormtrooper, two delicious new beers launched just in time for the ninth and final instalment of the famous film franchise.
Officially licensed from Shepperton Design Studios and prop-maker Andrew Ainsworth, these beers are inspired by the iconic brand. The Original Stormtrooper Galactic Pale Ale and Lightspeed Pilsner Lagerpromise beer lovers and die-hard film fans two deliciously drinkable beers.
Brewed by the expert team at St Peter’s Brewery in Suffolk, in collaboration with license holder, The Sourceror Ltd., these new beers aim to appeal to a wide range of beer drinkers. With clearly defined hop flavours, they promise robust flavours, yet highly sessionable drinking at just 4.2% abv.
Galactic Pale Ale is ahoppy and aromatic session ale, with bright citrus flavours. Expect aromas of grapefruit, pine and herbs, followed by a soft bitterness and earthy undertones. It will be available in 330ml can, keg and cask.
Lightspeed Pilsner Lager is a classic lager with a twist. Finest pilsner malt is used to deliver a subtle maltiness with hints of sweetcorn. It is balanced by a gentle bitterness, alongside citrus, resin and stone fruit hop aromas, derived from the dry hop process of maturing the beer with specially imported Australian Galaxy and US Millennium hops. It will be available in 330ml cans and keg.
“This is a joint venture between ourselves and The Sourceror and we’re incredibly excited to bring the trade two new beers that are not only delicious and highly drinkable, but also reflect the amazing hype and loyal following that surrounds this iconic brand,” says John Hadingham, managing director at St Peter’s Brewery. “Already the interest in these beers is phenomenal and we’ve had a raft of enquiries from buyers both at home and abroad. We are sure these new launches will have huge appeal.”
Ben Fowler at The Sourceror continues: “This is a fantastic new partnership with a very exciting brand that has far-reaching appeal. The iconic Stormtrooper image is known throughout the world and we’re very excited to bring it onto the beer scene, marrying brilliant, eye-catching design with award-winning brewing expertise. These launches are just the start; Stormtrooper has huge opportunity for growth.”
The stylised Stormtrooper image, which adorns the new 330ml canned and bottled Stormtrooper beers, dates back to 1976 when prop maker, Andrew Ainsworth of Shepperton Design Studios, created the original stormtrooper helmets and armour for the first movie. “This is a very exciting collaboration which has huge potential. The iconic Stormtrooper image is known throughout the world and we are sure these new launches will achieve huge interest both on the shelf and on the bar,” concludes Hadingham.
