The Vegetarian Society is pleased to announce Tesco is the headline sponsor of National Vegetarian Week 19-25 May 2014.
Lynne Elliot, chief executive, the Vegetarian Society, said: “We are excited that Tesco has taken up the veggie challenge and become headline sponsor of National Vegetarian Week 2014. More people are moving towards a meat free diet and it’s never been easier.”
John Scouler, commercial director, said: “We see it as our job to give our customers the best possible range of food whenever and however they want to shop and it’s no different for our vegetarian customers. So we’re delighted to be chosen as the sponsor for this year’s Vegetarian Week 2014.”
During National Vegetarian Week (NVW) 2014, customers can visit www.nationalvegetarianweek.org to take up the going veggie challenge – there’ll be fresh recipe and meal ideas, tips and hints, shopping advice and support.
Consumers will also be able to challenge their friends to see if they dare to go veggie for the week. Simply go to www.nationalvegetarianweek.org to send an online invitation then they will receive the challenge, meal plan ideas and recipes. Some people choose to have meat free weeks or months, others make a complete lifestyle change and opt for a fully vegetarian diet, the Society said.
