Thai Dragon launches soy sauce into Tesco

T he newly launched Thai Dragon brand has expanded into soy sauce launching into Tesco at a time when bottles of the Asian favourite have been in short supply.

June saw noticeable shortages of soy sauce on supermarket shelves due to a surge in demand – as more and more UK consumers replicate their favourite international dishes at home.

This week Thai Dragon’s soy sauce offering will be hitting the shelves of Tesco (JULY 14th, 2020)

It is the third launch this year from the Thai-inspired brand which kicked off in January 2020 with a trio of Thai Snacks, soon followed by a five strong line of Thai-inspired sauces including: Thai Dragon Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce Original; Thai Dragon Sriracha Hot Chilli Sauce Wasabi Flavour; Thai Dragon Black Fire Extra Hot Chilli Sauce; Thai Dragon Sriracha Chilli Mayo Sauce (vegan) and Thai Dragon Sweet Chilli Sauce.

The brand has achieved Tesco listings for each launch, as well as hitting the shelves of independent retailers across the UK.

Coming in at a competitive price point the Thai Dragon brand is poised to shake up the sauce and snack categories with its brand new Thai-inspired range.

Thai Dragon soy sauce is packaged in a traditional glass bottle which is fully recyclable.

The range is available to independent retailers via Surya Foods online wholesale catalogue at: https://suryafoodsonline.com/brand/thai-dragon

The Thai Dragon launch is being supported by a contemporary consumer facing website and a social media campaign titled #ridethedragon which includes consumer competitions and online giveaways.  The brand is also working with online social media influencers to reach its target audience.

The nation’s love affair with international cuisine continues to fuel year on year sales growth as Brits shun traditional sauces and snacks for more spicy and exotic varieties.

Speaking about the new line Surya Foods managing director Harry Dulai said: “While soy sauce is more traditionally associated with Chinese cooking, soy sauce is also used widely in Thai cooking. Thai cooking is all about balancing opposing flavours so the Thai version’s saltiness is perfectly balanced with sweetness.

“For those wanting to achieve the most authentic Thai flavours, this is great addition to the store cupboard.

“We are passionate about authentic tasting food and have poured decades of expertise into Thai Dragon to bring UK consumers a genuine taste of Thailand.”
