The UK’s biggest independent fragrance retailer, The Fragrance Shop, announced last week it would be raising funds over 36 hours from Sunday 18 April for the Rays of Sunshine Children’s Charity. The Rays Of Sunshine raised a whopping £1.3m within the 36 hours, with later donations across 50 hours taking it to a total of £1.4m. Playing a vital role in donations, The Fragrance Shop contributed an amazing £25,664.40, going towards helping more seriously ill children’s wishes come true.
The Fragrance Shop turned its social media and stores yellow on the morning of Sunday 18 April to the evening of Monday 19 April, during which time The Fragrance Shop team raised funds individually, with being given the option to donate on transaction by purchasing in -store during these 36-hours.
About Rays of Sunshine:
Rays of Sunshine children’s charity was formed in 2003 to brighten the lives of seriously ill young people, aged three to 18, and their families across the UK by granting wishes and providing ongoing support within hospitals.
The charity’s work creates a positive distraction, reduces isolation, improves self-esteem, and creates precious memories and smiles. Every day of the year, Rays of Sunshine gives brave and deserving young people the chance to put their illness on hold and enjoy a moment of escape.
Over 7,500 wishes have been granted since the charity was formed and their work has touched the lives of more than 80,000 children and young people, not to mention their siblings and parents. www.raysofsunshine.org.uk
