The top five retailers in the ChannelAdvisor UK Facebook Commerce Index – Topshop, ASOS, New Look, River Island and Urban Outfitters – accumulated an impressive 909,000 fans in December, with Topshop continuing to dominate and pulling further away from the pack.
The most surprising thing about Topshop’s continued growth is the fashion retailer doesn’t seem to use any competitions on its Facebook page to attract new fans; an example of brand loyalty at its best, said ChannelAdvisor.
Two of the biggest growers in December were Boohoo.com and Play.com, rocketing up the growth charts by adding 55% and 41% more fans respectively. Marks & Spencer also had a good month, adding more than 95,000 new fans (22%).
Other notable growers in December include The Carphone Warehouse (54,000 new fans) and Moonpig.com (90% increase).
