Turtle Wax: new distribution deals

Turtle Wax, a world leading brand in car care products, claim it is set to make a bold ‘land grab’ on the UK car care market this week as it announces two new strategic distribution partnerships for its consumer retail products.

Granville Oil & Chemicals and Active Products have both signed long term agreements with Turtle Wax, to facilitate the brand’s new aggressive growth strategy following three years of flat sales.

Granville Oil & Chemicals specialises in the manufacture and distribution of lubricants and automotive coatings worldwide. A longstanding reputation of working with numerous high quality brands, coupled with expert insight into the marketplace has positioned Granville Oil & Chemicals as the ideal distributor of Turtle Wax products to the automotive specialist sector.

Active Products is involved in the manufacture, marketing and distribution of an extensive portfolio of products to the DIY, grocery and online channels, as well as the wholesale sector within the UK. Active’s wealth of experience combined with logistics expertise, provides a strong platform to work in partnership with Turtle Wax to secure growth in the national, non-automotive sector.

Speaking about the new strategy, sales & marketing director, Mark Siddle, said: “This is the start of an exciting new chapter in Turtle Wax’s UK history. We have the best possible partners in place to ensure we maximise brand awareness and cement our position within the UK as the leading car care consumer brand.

“Our relationships with big retail brands are already strengthening as a result of our partnership with Active, and Granville’s expertise within the specialist sector will allow us to significantly widen our distribution. Both companies’ commitment to service and quality, combined with their experience makes them a perfect fit – we look forward to developing successful long-term working partnerships with both businesses.”

Coupled with its new distribution partnerships, Turtle Wax will also be focusing on consumer driven NPD growth to support the brand’s plans to increase its position in the UK car care marketplace.

Garry Holland, managing director, from Granville, said: “Turtle Wax is a much loved brand and a great addition to our portfolio – we are confident that we can help to build on the brand’s already strong positioning and extend its availability in the UK.”

Marc Das, managing director, at Active Products, said: “We are well-placed to support the growth of the Turtle Wax brand across national accounts. It’s a heritage brand with a very loyal user base in the UK. There is a lot of potential to target the bigger retail outlets and we look forward to working together to increase sales dramatically in the years to come.”
