Tyrrells, the crisp brand, has announced the appointment of creative agency Wieden + Kennedy London in the UK. Exploring the previously untapped area of advertising, it is a clear sign that Tyrrells is serious about continuing to invest in its growth, the company claims. As the fastest growing premium hand cooked crisp brand in the UK, Tyrrells is keen to take the brand to the next level and grow its family of snack lovers further.
Since its launch in 2002, Tyrrells has experienced great success with a YOY growth of 29% and an increasingly strong shelf presence both within the UK and in over 30 countries internationally. Success, which in July 2013, resulted in Tyrrells being sold to private equity investment fund Investcorp.
The evolution of its communications strategy is led by marketing director, Jocelyn McNulty. McNulty is passionate Tyrrells remains loyal to its Herefordshire roots of producing Hand Cooked English Crisps and snacks on the farm whilst enabling the brand to continue its fast-track growth without losing sight of its brand heritage.
McNulty said: “Wieden + Kennedy is a creative agency at the very top of its game. The team really seemed to understand the Tyrrells brand – especially when they were knee deep in mud on our Herefordshire potato farm! We are delighted that they are joining our outstanding family of partner agencies: Big Fish who leads our Pack Design and Spider who handle our PR – providing us with a premier division marketing support team.”
