UK Point of Sale has been named Business of the Year in the under £10m turnover category at Manchester Evening News’ annual awards.

The awards, which reward innovation and talent in businesses across the North West, were held at a gala dinner on 7 November 2012 at Manchester Town Hall.

Managing director Jason Leslie and his father, Bill, founded the Stockport-based, family-owned manufacturer 23 years ago; and the company reports it is now investing £4.5m in a new manufacturing and distribution site in Stockport.

UK POS boasts a large portfolio of clients ranging from independent retailers in the North West to national brands such as Morrisons, B&Q, Dunelm, Dobbies and Pets at Home.

In addition to the retail sector, UK POS provides products to estate agents, pubs, restaurants, leisure centres and hotels.

Debra Jamieson, sales and marketing director at UK POS, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been named one of the businesses of the year by the Manchester Evening News, and it is an honour to be part of a group of very worthy winners.

“Following the success of the last 23 years, and an average growth of 21% year-on-year, we are now looking to expand, to continue providing our customers with a reactive, reliable and responsive service.”
