Unibail-Rodamco, the largest listed commercial property company in Europe, has launched Mall of Scandinavia. Representing an investment of €640m, Mall of Scandinavia embodies Unibail-Rodamco’s vision for the future of the shopping centre industry in the Nordics, and establishes a new benchmark for retail and leisure destinations in the region. The 101,048sq m (1,087,672sq ft) development is located just seven minutes from the city centre of Stockholm, and is now the largest shopping centre in Sweden.

Constructed in the emerging city district of Solna, Mall of Scandinavia is a mere 90-minute drive from a third of the Swedish population. It has an ideal location, with some 1,570,000 people living within 30 minutes of the centre. Its accessibility has been improved by major infrastructure works, including new bridges and other bespoke road connections to the major E18 and E4 highways.
This carefully-curated blend of outstanding retail, exciting leisure and thoughtful services are set within a truly spectacular environment – designed by Wingårdhs, Benoy and BAU (Byrån för Arkitektur & Urbanism) architects. Positioned across three distinct nodes (Wind, Earth and Water), the centre features a magnificent 240mlong Flagship Avenue, flanked by iconic 8-metre high shop fronts.
Mall of Scandinavia has 224 retail and leisure units, 14 of which are new market entries, including Pull&Bear, Intimissimi, Disney, KIKO Milano and LEGO. Other major brands include Michael Kors, Victoria’s Secret, & Other Stories, COS, River Island, Tommy Hilfiger, and Zara.
The centre also houses a new concept developed by UR-LAB, Unibail-Rodamco’s innovation incubator, called The Designer GalleryTM. This area sees the curation of carefully chosen exclusive and designer brands (eg.Céline Sunglasses, Kartell and Reebok Pump Fury), a selection of pioneering pop-up stores, a lounge area, and a set of services including a personal shopping team.
In addition to retail stores, internationally renowned French mineral water brand Evian has also exclusively chosen Mall of Scandinavia to unveil its 2016 limited edition bottle with fashion designer Alexander Wang.
The mall showcases the Dining Plaza – incorporating The Dining ExperienceTM concept. The dedicated food and beverage area of the centre contains a number of quality restaurant operators, from the award-winning Indian Garden and Mangiardino – Peter Nordin’s latest concept – to Vapiano and Caliente. Together with its 15-screen multiplex cinema including Sweden’s first commercial IMAXTM screen, the Mall of Scandinavia’s food, drink and leisure offer is at the heart of its modern offering, ensuring that it provides a complete, full day-out shopping experience.
Mall of Scandinavia also combines unrivalled accessibility and technology – an important aspect of the company’s renowned 4 Star label. The centre boasts a state-of-the-art ‘smart’ parking system set within a stunning, vibrant, 3,700-space car park. Further innovative services include a Smart Map, ‘Click & Services’ (a click & collect lounge), and a ‘Click & Eat’ function on the centre’s website and app.
