Violife, the leading alternative to cheese in the UK, continues its food service expansion with its latest product innovation in partnership with Pizza Hut Restaurants – the new Vegan Stuffed Crust Pizza.
The launch follows the successful introduction of Violife into the restaurant’s vegan menu in 2017 and the recent launch of Pizza Hut’s Pepperphoni Pizza, featuring Violife, which resulted in nearly 40,000 vegan pizzas sold within one month alone.
Launched due to customer demand, the new vegan stuffed crust is encased with the perfect amount of Violife, to create a great vegan alternative to the nation’s much loved treat. Since inventing the stuffed crust concept 25 years ago, Pizza Hut Restaurants sell an average of 1.6 million a year.
Simon Orchard, UK & Ireland country manager, comments: “Violife is at the forefront of the plant-based revolution and we’re delighted to be partnering with Pizza Hut Restaurants to make the deliciously melty new vegan version a reality.
“It’s incredible to see how fast the popularity of Violife is growing – our vegan alternative to cheese makes an appearance on a number of menus at popular UK restaurants and is stocked at all mainstream supermarkets.”
Ciara Grace, senior menu innovation manager at Pizza Hut Restaurants, added: “We’re always looking into new and exciting ways to develop our menu and cater to as many guests as possible. The Vegan Stuffed Crust was naturally the next step for us to grow our plant-based offering at Pizza Hut Restaurants. We’re really excited to launch the Vegan Stuffed Crust as we’re confident it’s going to be a hit on both taste and texture.”
Violife can now be found across the vegan menus of more than 3,000 well-known restaurant outlets in the UK. The rapid expansion has resulted in Violife owning a massive 88% of the branded dairy-free alternative to cheese market, with further product innovation and partnerships in the pipeline.
The Vegan Stuffed Crust option, featuring Violife, is available as an Individual Pizza for a £2.50 add on cost. Pizza Hut Restaurants’ vegan options are available to dine-in and take-out at every restaurant in England, Scotland and Wales, and for delivery from selected Pizza Hut Restaurants on Deliveroo and Uber Eats from today.
