Unilever, the UK’s number one ice cream manufacturer, is spreading joy amongst kids, parents and caregivers once again, as it adds a fun new ice lolly, Yummies, to its Responsibly Made For Kids line up – just in time for summer!
Rich in fruity flavours, with tropical and berry variants, kids can embark on a treasure hunt to find hidden gummies, derived from seaweed but still with a delicious taste that are hidden deep within the bright blue ocean and tropical island themed lollies. Meanwhile, parents and caregivers can be reassured that whilst the fun factor is high, the calories (49 kcal per stick) and sugar (8.8g per stick) are low.
The launch of Yummies follows a strong year of growth for Unilever in the ice cream category, up by 19.8% at the end of last year. Retailers can also capitalise on the rise in sales Wall’s witnessed across its multipack portfolio.
Jennifer Dyne, ice-cream brand experience director, Unilever UK&I commented: “This summer is set to be the year of the staycation and we know parents and caregivers are looking for delicious, but responsible treats which can be enjoyed at home in the garden or on holiday. At Wall’s, we are dedicated to spreading happiness through fun, tasty and responsibly made ice cream treats. Yummies is the perfect balance of health and fun which will appeal to both kids and parents/caregivers alike.”
Yummies joins Unilever’s Responsibly Made for Kids range, which already includes popular favourites such as Mini Milk and Twister. Each product has no more than 110 calories, 12 grams of sugar and 3 grams of saturated fat per ice cream portion. This initiative is also part of Unilever’s Future Foods ambition which is committed to helping people move towards healthier diets by lowering calorie, salt and sugar levels across its products and to reduce the environmental impact of the global food chain.
